About the Chef

To quote one of my favorite movies, "I was born a poor black child." Well that's not true, I was not poor. Both my parents worked and as a child I never wanted. I spent a lot of time with my Great grand mother and watching her cook was the beginning of my love of food. Growing up during the depression, she cooked a lot of depression era food. I can't say I enjoyed everything she fixed but I know she fixed everything with love and care. Moved to Detroit when I was 7 and spent the next 12 years there. I tell people I was born in LA but I was raised in Detroit. With my Grandmother in LA I shifted my attention to my mother and the way she cooked. She would take recipes from my grandmother and chanhe them up to make something her's. This is when I learned that the recipe was just a rode map and any good cook knows that to truly cook one must make the food their own.

Graduated from High School, Moved to Georgia and went to college. Even though cooking was something I liked to do, it never crossed my mind that it was something I could do for a living. Got into the computer field and worked IT until the bubble burst of 200 7 when the company decided to out source my position. Unemployed and looking to do something I wanted to do, decided to explore cooking. In 2010 I moved to Las Vegas and enrolled at the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Las Vegas.

Well Thats me in a nutshell. Hope I didn't boar you to much.
